Latest Report from our Planners:
An Exhibition for local residents identified key issues as Traffic Impact; Type and quality of housing; Uses of the open space; Future maintenance; Boundaries and Green belt. The feedback led to a Draft Master Plan based on public preferences that was successfully launched in the local press and to individual stakeholders such as Green Corridor, Hounslow Homes and the Members of the Chamber of Commerce.
'Cameo' drawings of key areas around the lakes and along the south west boundary were produced to address local concerns about the impact of building on individual householders. These have been floated with members of Spelthorne Council who are now up to speed with the proposal. We have scoped a Transport Assessment and await formal comment from Hounslow Borough Council.
The Core Strategy is now scheduled for spring 2010. The London Plan Review has been published for consultation to January 2010. Key issues are:

Population will grow from 7.63m to 8.63m by 2026.
Households will growth from 3.32m in 2011 to 3.99m in 2031.
Opportunity Areas are retained - the relevant one is now described as Heathrow' - and 'are the capital's major reservoir of brownfield land with significant capacity to ccommodate new housing, commercial and other development'.
Enhancements to London's green infrastructure should be sought from development.
Whilst London needs between 33,100 - 44,700 dwellings per annum, the Plan proposes 33,400 homes pa to 2015 with the figure reviewed at that time.
Hounslow is proposed to deliver a minimum of 470 dwellings per annum to 2015.
The Plan proposes minimum space standards and detailed density targets.
Schemes of more than 500 dwellings should be subject to a planning framework to coordinate provision of social, environmental and other infrastructure and create neighbourhoods.
Development proposals that increase or enhance the provision of sports and recreation facilities will be supported.
The Mayor will support the remediation of contaminated land bringing it back to beneficial use.
The Green Belt will be protected from inappropriate development - positive management and improved access are seen as equal keys.
